About Ansilo Health

Ansilo Health is building a trusted pharmaceutical asset stewardship platform for Africa — anchored by the Portfolio Stewardship Division and supported by Quality Testing and Manufacturing capabilities.

Our Mission

To build a trusted pharmaceutical asset stewardship platform that strengthens African healthcare systems — giving multinational pharmaceutical companies a credible, institutionally capable South African partner for strategic legacy transfers, commercial partnerships, and specialist portfolio services, while improving patient access to quality medicines through responsible stewardship, local manufacturing, and pharmaceutical quality capability.

Our Vision

To become one of Africa's most respected pharmaceutical companies — a trusted institution serving patients, partners, and healthcare systems across the continent, with the scale and credibility of a global pharmaceutical enterprise.

Our Story

Building a Pharmaceutical Institution

From founding vision to integrated pharmaceutical company — the Ansilo story.

Ansilo Health was founded by Dr Michael Klein to address a fundamental gap: Africa's dependence on imported medicines and the need for locally based pharmaceutical capability.

The company was designed from inception as a trusted pharmaceutical institution — not a trading operation or a thin distributor. The strategic rationale is built on three reinforcing divisions: the Portfolio Stewardship Division (which assumes regulatory, pharmacovigilance, quality, supply chain, and commercial stewardship of pharmaceutical assets), the Quality Testing Division (building independent analytical and regulatory capability), and the Manufacturing Division (creating long-term value through local production).

Ansilo's core insight is that multinational pharmaceutical companies will only entrust mature or under-resourced products to a South African partner that can demonstrate deep, institutional-grade regulatory, pharmacovigilance, quality, and supply chain capability. The Portfolio Stewardship Division is therefore deliberately built with more headcount and system depth than a lean distributor — because the capability itself is the trust infrastructure that enables the business model.

“Ansilo exists to fill a critical gap between Africa's pharmaceutical needs and its current capability. We are building an institution designed for long-term relevance — not a short-term venture.”
